Birthday Babe: Namitha

South India’s glamour queen Namitha celebrated her 32^nd birthday on May 10.
Starting out as a 17 year old beauty pageant winner, Namitha went on to become the most sought after heroine in the south, and was the reigning queen of Kollywood and Tollywood for many years.

Namitha first came into the spotlight in 1998, when she won the title of Miss Surat.

In 2001, she participated in the Miss India beauty pageant, and became the fourth runner-up. Actress Celina Jaitely was the winner of the pageant.

She later appeared in various TV commercials for brands like Himani, Arun Ice Cream, Manikchand and Nile Herbal Shampoo.

Namitha Kapoor has ruled the South film industry as the glamour queen for many years. After a small hiatus, the sizzler is all set to strike back in Tollywood with her upcoming release Midatha. As the glam-doll celebrates her birthday, we bring you a pictorial fact-file on Namitha.

In 2003, although she acted in Oka Raju, Oka Rani, and Oka Radha Iddaru Krishna Pelli, the movies did not do well at the box office.
